I am running because Maragwa is rich in land, rivers and people — yet our farmers earn the least for the most work. Coffee bonuses come late. Tea cheques are thin. Macadamia and avocado leave the farm cheap and return to us expensive. This must change — and it will change.
I AM RUNNING FOR…
MY PROMISE — A MARAGWA WHERE:
MARAGWA NI YETU.
David M. Ndirangu was born and raised on the red soils of Maragwa. He grew up among coffee bushes, tea ridges and banana plantations — learning early that the wealth of this constituency is in its land, its rivers and its people.
He understands what it means to wait for the coffee cherry payment that never arrives on time, to watch a macadamia harvest sold cheaply at the farm gate, and to see young people leave the shamba because no one is fighting for fair prices, real markets or reliable water.
David's story is the story of Maragwa — hard work, faith and patience. He is running because the people of Kambiti, Kamahuha, Ichagaki, Nginda and Makuyu deserve an MP who knows the farm gate, the matatu stage and the market shed by name.
Six pillars. Built from listening tours in coffee factories, tea collection points, dairy CBEs, market sheds and youth chamas across all five wards.
Timely coffee bonuses, audited factory deductions, modern tea weighing centres and direct-to-market pilots. Every cherry, every leaf, every cheque accounted for.
Licensed buying centres, published farm-gate prices, cracking & cold-storage hubs.
Rehabilitate rural water lines, community boreholes and small-scale irrigation in all five wards.
Working clinics, stocked drugs, supported ECDEs and bursaries that reach the right learners.
Graded rural roads, rebuilt market sheds at Maragwa, Kandara and Makuyu, and agri-processing jobs for youth — the constituency that finally moves at the speed of its farmers.
Maragwa does not need more speeches. Maragwa needs a representative who fights for fair coffee pay, working water lines and real opportunities for youth.
Fair pay for coffee and tea farmers
End broker exploitation, build value chains
Bananas, mangoes and oranges — Maragwa's signature harvest
Water from the Maragua river system to every shamba
Dairy, poultry and a stronger livestock economy
Rural roads, market sheds and last-mile access
Youth jobs in agri-processing, trades and digital work

The first 100 days will not solve every problem. But they will show the direction of this office: not noise, not excuses, not drama — delivery.
Open public engagement on coffee society payments and deductions across Maragwa factories.
Publish weekly farm-gate prices ward by ward — end the brokers' price secrecy.
Map and prioritise repair of the worst rural water lines and broken community boreholes.
A public list of the worst rural roads and market sheds in each of the five wards.
Open enrolment for agri-processing, dairy, trades and digital work pathways.
Residents see what is being done, where, when and at what cost — every month.
Not a campaign of speeches — a record of presence. From Kambiti to Makuyu, Kamahuha to Nginda.

Maragwa, Kandara and Makuyu trader sheds.

Listening at coffee collection points.

Tea pickers on the green ridges.

Avocado & macadamia brokers, fairer prices.

Dairy coolers and ufugaji support.

Youth chamas and agri-processing pilots.
Service. Transformation. Six promises for Maragwa — economic empowerment, agriculture & value addition (bananas, mangoes, machungwa and poultry), infrastructure, education & youth, healthcare for all, and accountable leadership. Print it. Share it. Paste it kwa duka, kanisa, sokoni — popote watu wapo.

This campaign is about building, not destroying.
A serious campaign must speak clearly. A serious representative must report back. We will not use this page only for publicity — we will use it to inform, listen, explain, and report back.

MARAGWA, KAZI NI KAZI.
From the shamba up — not from the podium down.
"I HAVE PICKED COFFEE ON THESE RIDGES. I HAVE WAITED FOR THE BONUS THAT CAME LATE. I HAVE WATCHED MACADAMIA LEAVE THE FARM CHEAP. MARAGWA IS NOT A PROJECT — IT IS MY HOME."
